The purpose of this article is to analyze the discipline "Foreign language" potential as an effective means for solving this task based on interdisciplinary integration, also by distance learning. Materials and methods. The methodological basis for CLIL-technology of foreign language teaching is a combination of competence-based, activity-based, and personality-oriented approaches. The main research methods are the analysis of scientific literature on the problem in the works of domestic and foreign scientists; diagnostic techniques of parameters and level of student's self-organization ("Questionnaire of activities'-self-organization" by E. Mandrikova; the closed and open-ended questions' survey). In the pedagogical CLIL-technology experiment took part 40 first year humanitarian students (Sociology, Social Work) of Petrozavodsk State University. To prove the statistical significance of the obtained data Student's t-test was applied. Results. There was an improvement in the indicators of all subjects on the scales "Planning", "Purposefulness", "Self-Organization". The results on the "Planning-scale" did not reach the minimum average values in the men's group (12,19≤14,42). In the scales "Purposefulness" and "self-Organization", the obtained data were in the range of acceptable average values by all participants of experimental training (29,41 ≥ 28,145,12≥4,99 for men's group; 25,99 ≥25,356,13≥5,35 for women group). Discussion. The assumption is confirmed, that it is possible to build the Humanities students self-organization ability by foreign language teaching. The feasibility of this method is proved for further building of this competency in higher education. Conclusions. It is proposed to use in foreign language teaching technologies for developing student's ability of self-organization and self-development starting from the first year. This will contribute to the effective professional training a future specialist who has such competitive qualities as stress resistance, the ability to effectively plan their activities and function in rapidly changing circumstances.
