Abstract

This quarterly publication presents, in physical units, production statistics collected by Eurostat from the Member States' national statistical institutes for a number of manufacturing industries. The data are compiled in accordance with common definitions in order to ensure comparability at Community level. Data for production of man-made fibres (in tons), textile products (in tons and square metres), and clothing (in numbers) are included in some issues. Provision is made in each section for a comprehensive range of man-made fibres (staple and filament), yarns (natural and man-made fibre), fabrics (woven, knitted and nonwoven), and garments. The data are stored in Eurostat's CRONOS data bank and are accessible via the EURONET network.
