The authors explored an oil/water interfacial photocyanation reaction of pyrene (PyH) by using polymer microchannel chips: width of 100 μm, depth of 20 μm. As a typical expt., an aq. NaCN soln. and a propylene carbonate soln. of PyH and 1,4-dicyanobenzene were brought together into a Y-structured microchannel chip by pressure-driven flow. Light radiation onto the whole of the channel chip resulted in formation of 1-cyanopyrene (PyCN). The abs. PyCN yield as high as 78 % was attained under the optimum conditions. [on SciFinder(R)]
