Abstract

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the PJJ (Distance Learning) program has been instructed by the government and implemented at different school levels. As a result, the competence of students has decreased, causing learning loss conditions. Based on the results of needs analysis, the material on the structure of plant functions are considered difficult to implement during a pandemic because of the limited face-to-face activities, especially the use of laboratories, making students only able to observe plant morphology, physiology, and anatomy only through pictures and videos. Therefore the formation of learning media applications needs to be created. The purpose of this study is to develop an Augmented Reality-based application that makes it easier for teachers when helping to catch up with material due to learning loss. This study uses the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) which uses 6 stages in its development, namely: Concept, Design, Collecting Content Material, Assembly, Testing, and Distribution. The results of this study are the use of Augmented Reality technology in the application of the "Plant Escape" learning application to the material structure of plant functions that act as learning media in overcoming loss learning problems.
