Abstract

This research is focused in a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) strategy for New Technology Based Enterprises (NTBE) for solving difficulties for integrating the product requirements and for improving the collaboration with the external contributors that occur in almost all the PLM stages, considering the limited resources of a Small Enterprise. In this work, we analyze a case study of the collaboration between a New Technology Based Enterprise, its Suppliers and Customers and we present a Product Requirement Representation considering the International Standard ISO 10303-0239. After the analysis and with the presented product representation, we propose a PLM Reference Model and an implementation of Open Source Software as a low cost solution for enabling PLM in this kind of business collaborative environment. © 2013 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
