Abstract

Cottle, Boden, and Richards discuss the Engaged Learning effort in the Family Studies emphasis at Utah Valley University. Their discussion includes how this process modified the teaching of FLE methodology to include more high-impact practices with a focus on the class (using meaningful, student-led assignments), the certification (certifying students in a widely used family curriculum), and the experience (teaching diverse families in a field-based setting off campus) and how high-impact elements are integrated into each.
