Hematologic complications post-transplant are not uncommon, increasing morbidity and mortality in patients affected by them. A variety of post-transplant factors can cause these blood disorders such as medications, infections, allograft dysfunction, nutrition, and rejection. Their identification and management can be challenging due to the multi-factorial nature of these disorders. The causes, pathogenesis, clinical features, and treatment strategies for common disorders such as anemia, cytopenias, post-transplant lymphoproliferative disorders (PTLD), and erythrocytosis in addition to some uncommon disorders such as thrombotic microangiopathy (TMA) and hemophagocytic syndrome (HPS) are discussed in this chapter.
