Abstract

Some 83 papers presented deal with contact materials, their metallurgy and design, whether applied to switching or nonswitching and whether fixed or sliding. The range of currents is not limited and behavior is examined according to the contact's application. The effect of various working conditions which can lead to problems of welding, erosion, and more generally in interaction contacts - electric arcs in different atmospheres are discussed, as well as surface and contamination problems. The need for reliability is stressed. The papers are in English, German or French. Refs.
