Abstract

Resumen: En la fase de Mundialización del capital, la América Latina vive un momento de regresión social brutal. Este artículo identifica estrategias del neoliberalismo para debilitar las estructuras democráticas y los sistemas de protección social en la región. Indicadores importantes muestran los impactos sociales devastadores e indignantes que esas medidas han generado en toda América Latina. En este contexto, el servicio social debe asumir múltiples desafíos para resistir en una defensa radical de los derechos humanos.Abstract: In the phase of Mundialização do Capital, Latin America is experiencing a moment of brutal social regression. The article identifies strategies of neoliberalism to weaken democratic structures and social protection systems in the region. Important indicators portray the devastating and outrageous social impacts these measures have generated throughout Latin America. In this context, social work must take on multiple challenges in order to resist in a radical defense of human rights.
