Abstract

Importance of cereals and wheat nematodes in the world is revised with an emphasis on the cereal cyst and root lesion nematodes. Distribution of cereal nematodes, species and pathotypes, life cycle, symptoms of damage and yield losses for the cereal cyst nematode, root lesion and other cereal parasitic species including root knot, stem and seed gall nematodes.are revised.. The integrated control of each cereal nematode, particularly focussing on cultural practices of rotation and use of host resistance are given.
