We show that the protocol for certified mail delivery of Ferrer-Gomila and others [2] may exhibit contradictory behavior when the recipient is not well behaved. As a consequence, properties such as non-repudiation of reception and fairness may not hold. We also present a solution for this weakness which has minimal cost.
