Abstract

This academic paper aims to analyze ethical parameters of organizations in relation to sustainability and environmental innovations. Literature review has been applied, starting with the analysis of the possible convergence of Kant's, Georgescu-Roegen's and Jonas' ideas with current organizational studies on this subject. This research presents the main characteristics of sustainable innovations and how organizations behave in face of decisions concerning this type of innovation. Among the results, it should be highlighted compatibility between ethics and innovation and the establishment of beliefs and values that aim to improve the reputation of companies by innovation and ethics. Moreover, it has been noticed that the influence of the organizational culture and the lack of ethical sensitivity by entrepreneurs regarding innovation capacity are obstacles that the productivist logic of capital imposes to environmentally responsible management practices.
