Abstract

Many types of fuel cell generation systems are applied for new and renewable energy area. Among them the most suitable fuel cell types for the system capacity from few hundred kW to MW level are the phosphoric acid fuel cell (PAFC), molten carbonate fuel cell (MCFC) and solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC). In this paper, the fundamentals, characteristics and applications of each types of fuel cell were analyzed and introduce. Also, the technical trends of fuel cell generation was introduced.
