Abstract

A comprehensive ocular and pertinent systemic history and the availability of a thorough physical examination are mandatory for every orbit patient. Motor and sensory problems, including numbness and tingling, as well as cold/heat sensation, should also be inquired about. A complete ocular examination with a detailed strabismus evaluation and dilated indirect ophthalmoscopy should also be done in every case. Physical appraisal of both orbits and clinical measurements and testing are done and a rational differential diagnosis should be formulated before the patient is sent for imaging. This chapter details the examination and testing methods for the orbital tumor patient in the clinic.
