Abstract

The contribution considers transformation of value chains of telecommunication companies, which is connected with setting out auxiliary business processes into separate business units: shared service centers. The authors considered such a global trend of economic development as digitization of information and business processes, which is a source of these organizational changes. Shared service centers, which can significantly improve the quality of infrastructure support for core business processes, are presented as a variant of internal outsourcing, which has the potential to move to external outsourcing. Based on the concept of the value chain by M. Porter, the authors reviewed the model of the shared service center used by PAO Megafon (a publicly held company under the laws of the Russian Federation), identified sources of added value and identified the development potential of the shared center as an independent business.
