On adapting neural network to cellular manufacturing

Abstract

This work gives an overview of the neural network based approaches that have been developed to solve the part-machine grouping problem related with the introduction of a cellular manufacturing layout. It also proposes and discusses extensions that should be made to this tool in order to overcome its drawbacks. © 2009 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
