Abstract

The climate of the Purari basin (Papua New Guinea) is dictated by the effect of topography on the two main seasonal airstreams, the northwesterlies and the southeasterlies. It varies from a hot and very wet environment over southern parts to a relatively dry and mild environment in the northeastern corner.-from Author
