Shape memory alloys, generally Cu2n and Niti alloys, are not easily manufactured and their properties are new. There are consequently major obstacles on the route from scientific research via production of alloy- and semi-finished material to commercial application. The shape memory effect (SME) has to do with the change in shape of a material when its temperature is altered, with or without the influence of external mechanical stresses A necessary prerequisite for shape memory in there alloys is always in martensitic transformation. Shape memory alloys show three specific properties - namely, prendoelasticity, a one-way effect and a two-way effects.
