Abstract

The resistivity of beta-alumina may be affected by any of the following: the replacement of mobile sodium ions by other metal cations; additives changing the concentration of the mobile sodium ions; additives or impurities affecting the sintering to high density of polycrystalline samples; additives promoting the formation of beta double prime -alumina; and the replacement of aluminum ions by other plus 3 ions.
