Tradução de literatura infanto-juvenil para língua de sinais: dialogia e polifonia em questão

Abstract

O objetivo deste trabalho foi a criação de critérios para procedimentos de tradução de literatura infanto-juvenil do Português para a Libras. Para isso, neste artigo, recorremos aos conceitos de dialogia e polifonia de Mikhail Bakhtin. Mediante uma pesquisa de natureza analítico-descritiva, foi possível verificar que o intérprete não traduz apenas o texto, mas é intensamente motivado pelas ilustrações do livro, pelo gênero discursivo e pelo público-alvo potencial do material.The object of this work was to establish some criteria regarding the procedures for the Translation of children's literature from Portuguese into Brazilian Sign Language (Libras). To achieve this we applied the concepts of dialogism and polyphony defended by Mikhail Bakhtin. Based on an analytical and descriptive research, it was possible to verify that the sign language interpreter does not translate the text alone but is greatly stimulated by the book's illustrations, by the discursive genre, and by the material's prospective target audience.
