Abstract

After a decade of development, attosecond science has reached a mature state. The basic tools and techniques are now established. The increase of flux and photon energies and subfemtosecond control of the fields are major technological frontiers for the near future. In this chapter we shall review the new routes for the development of the field, their applications and implications for new discoveries. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2013.
