Abstract
This paper describes a conceptual model of smart buildings as ecosystem of lean components. The smartness of a building should be an emergent property of many interacting lean components rather than a pre-programmed coordination of actions. A prototype smart house of software simulation and hardware experiment is presented. © 2013 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
