Abstract

In this paper, we studied the friction performance of reciprocate sealing by O-ring for float controller. What's analyzed here is the impact of the swelling ratio and rigidity of the O-ring dipped in gasoline, kerosene and diesel oil on the static and kinetic friction aroused by swelling. Based on the experiment results, we find that the rigidity of the O-ring decreases with the oil swelling ratio increasing, and the decreasing ratio of the O-ring dipped in gasoline is the lowest. The static and kinetic friction aroused by swelling increases with the increasing of precompression as a whole. The experiment results also show that the friction is not proportional to the compression. When the value of compression is less than 0.45mm, the friction fluctuates; when the value is in the range of 0.45mm to 0.6mm, the friction keep invariable; when the value is more than 0.6mm, the higher the compression is the higher the friction is.
