Abstract

The SNARE complex proteins have been implicated in exocytotic neurotransmitter release and other forms of membrane fusion. Recent work shows that NSF, the ATPase of the SNARE complex, regulates the kinetics of neurotransmitter release and can thereby control the integrative properties of synapses.
