Abstract

An element of leadership and leadership is one of the essentials of the organization after destinations, cooperation and division of labor. Leadership is an aspirational power, the power of the spirit, and the power to change attitudes, thus becoming a leader conforms desires. The leader is needed because the pluralism of the people that must be chosen requires the formation of mutualism, uniformity, unanimity, coordination, mutual compliance organization and confirms the identity of the organization. The purpose of this study identified how the leadership style of the head Library on SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Depok Yogyakarta. This study uses a qualitative research design with a type of case study research. Data collection method used in this research is using interview. The technique of presenting data carried out informally is in the form of narration. These results indicate that the leadership style adopted by the head Library on SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Yogyakarta Depok is situational style. The implementation of situational leadership styles in the Library on SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Depok Yogyakarta can be said to run effectively, this is based on four dimensions, namely telling, selling, participating and delegating.
