Abstract

By contrast with the marginal medical positions of Pauling and Cameron, the eminent oncologist they identify as their leading opponent — Dr Charles Moertel (who directed both Mayo Clinic trials of vitamin C) — is very well-placed to represent conventional opinion on cancer therapy. Moertel’s affiliations offer a guide to the complexities of the shifting coalition of interested parties who may be collectively identified as the vitamin C ‘non-believers’.
