Abstract

The 13th Cosmoderm meeting, a joint meeting of the European Society of Cosmetic and Aesthetic Dermatology and the Hellenic Society of Dermatology and Venereology, convened in Athens, Greece just before Christmas. Despite clashes of youth protesters with the police in the city streets, the meeting boasted an unprecedented attendance of 800 participants. The scientific program covered the hottest topics of cosmetic dermatology, achieving a fair balance, not only between basic and clinical science but also between preventive and therapeutic approaches. In addition, the contribution of distinguished invited speakers and experts guaranteed a state-of-the-art update in all topics through a number of lectures, sessions and, most importantly, hands-on workshops. © 2009 Expert Reviews Ltd.
