Abstract

Users' attitudes towards the use of an experimental location based service running on a mobile phone using Wi-Fi beacons as a locator are reported. Twenty one users took part in the trial and sixteen went on to be active users. Detailed results based on logging and user interviews are reported exploring usage, perceptions and experiences. The attitudes reported to a service of this type were generally positive. © 2012 ICST Institute for Computer Science, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering.
