Abstract

Bergenia crassifolia (L.) Fritsch (Fig. 1), a species in the Bergenia genus belongs to the family Saxifragaceae, the order Rosales. For more than 100 years the plant has been known in Asia as a valuable raw material, a source of tannins and pigments.
