Abstract

The new lung cancer stage classification system is the culmination of 10 years of work and an unprecedented analysis and validation process. This article reviews details of the rules governing how to implement the system and discusses areas in which ambiguities and difficulties exist. © 2010 American College of Chest Physicians.
