Abstract

Joints are locations at which two or more bones come together. They are often constructed to allow movement and provide mechanical support. Joints can be classified functionally basedon theamount of movement allowed: “ synarthroses ” are immovable “amphiarthroses ” are slightly movable and “ diarthroses ” are freely movable.
