Abstract

This paper discusses one of the most significant concepts in urban development, which is Ecotourism. The concept emerged with social and cultural that contribute to improving several psychological aspects, whether at the individual level or the country level. The concept of Ecotourism has also occurred as a modern and practical alternative that preserves nature and contributes to its growth and thus achieving health sustainability of cities. This study clarifies the points of interest in the healthy environment of these places and identifies the possibilities to achieve them within the framework of urban design using sustainable transportation. The study also develops recommendations used in sustainable urban transport which can be applied in Erbil city in Iraq to create an appropriate spatial health environment in the tourist areas in terms of increasing the sustainability of these places and in attracting tourists to healthy environments, which in turn will contribute to the health of the world.
