Abstract

Fox-Fordyce disease is a rare, chronic, pruritic disorder characterized by small perifollicular papules localized to the apocrine gland-bearing regions of the skin. The disease affects the apocrine-bearing areas of the skin. The authors discuss the various therapies available such as creams, medication, ultraviolet light, and surgical procedures. A case is reported of treatment with liposuction-assisted curettage resulting in reduced number of papules and no further need of corticosteroid cream.
