Abstract

This study was carried out in Narcondam Island to assess the population, status, and distribution of Narcondam hornbill. Line transect method was used to estimate the population. The density of hornbills was estimated at 72 birds/km 2. Feeding and breeding behavior was also studied during the study period. The detailed conservation measures are described in this chapter.
