In our interview with Cleyde Helena, she tells us about her research work and how lack of continued funding led to the lab she was working in to close. Cleyde now works as an independent contractor in technical sales, helping researchers purchase customized scientific equipment for their research. Leaving academia was a long and painful process for Cleyde, but now she helps others realize that other career paths can also be fulfilling.
