Abstract

Despite an increasing prevalence of delirium in hospitals and community settings, it is a condition often overlooked by clinicians and this carries considerable cost implications for the NHS. In this review, Dr Raju and Dr Coombe-Jones describe risk factors for delirium, symptoms, how to diagnose and manage delirium, and finally, what prospects prognosis can hold.
