Abstract

Three species of Asclepiadaceae tribe Stapelieae, Caudanthera sinaica (Decne.) Plowes, Borealluma plicatiloba (Lavranos) Plowes and Apteranthes negevensis (Zohary) Plowes were collected during different scientific expeditions in the Southern Jordanian desert. The diploid chromosome number 2n = 22 was recorded for all the investigated specimens. The small size of chromosomes doesn’t allow the construction of the karyotype. © 2004 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
