Abstract

Nanofiltration (NF) and low-pressure reverse osmosis (RO) for theremoval of zinc ions from wastewaters have been studied. Influence ofco- and counter-ions concentration in feed water on zinc removal by NF,RO was analyzed and described. The effect of the pH on the Zn removalhas shown that RO could not be recommended for acidic cationicwaste-water treatment due to high osmotic pressure. The isoelectricpoint of nanofiltration membrane (pH approximate to 5.4) has beendefined.
