Abstract

This article presents the modified algorithm to improve a detection of a leakage in liquid transmission pipeline. It is focused on the leaks, which occur during changes of pipeline’s operating conditions. The algorithm uses cyclical measurements of flow rate on both ends of the pipeline. In comparison to the well-known and commonly used solution, it is characterized by a new process variable structure and two options of a resulting function. The proposed algorithm was evaluated by carrying out experimental tests on the physical model of a pipeline.
