Abstract

The effects of extreme loads on tubbing elements have been studied as part of the joint research project "Automated generation of information and protection of critical infrastructures in the event of a disaster (AISIS)". Novel sensing techniques and protective measures have been developed to monitor and enhance the robustness of tubbing tunnels. Amongst other topics, Ed. Züblin AG developed a new coupling system to increase the resistance of tubbing tunnels in case of explosive loads. © 2012 Springer-Verlag.
