Describes five major research projects designed to improve the ability to cope with climatic change induced by changes in carbon dioxide. The projects draw on a variety of areas in psychology, and demonstrate how an interdisciplinary focus, a cross-cultural emphasis, and a combination of basic and applied research, are fundamental to any success in mitigating the effects of such environmental changes. -J.SheailDecisions Research, A Branch of Perceptronics, Eugene, Oregon, USA.
