Hybrid coronary revascularization is a planned combination of minimally invasive, off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting and percutaneous coronary intervention employed together to treat patients with multivessel coronary artery disease. With the combination of these two approaches to treating coronary disease, patients benefit from the long-term advantages of coronary artery bypass grafting and the safety profile of percutaneous coronary intervention. The results of hybrid coronary revascularization have been promising, showing lower procedural morbidity and shorter recovery times when compared to conventional coronary artery bypass grafting while at the same time showing improved freedom from major adverse coronary events when compared to PCI.
