Abstract

Innovatiion is an important driver of long term economic wealth. In order to stimulate innovation and to take away the barriers for innovation, we need to understand the nature of innovation and the innovation system in which it takes place. The notion of an innovation system needs further development of insight in what goes on in the inter-actions between individual and organisational actors, in the creation of ideas, their application in innovation, and their diffusion. This edited volume provides such insight from multiple disciplinary perspectives, as a foundation for innovation policy.
