Abstract

Why is neck contour correction needed? Both men and women know a well-contoured neck is an artistic necessity for an attractive and pleasing appearance. The neck can indicate (Fig. 26.1): Fitness or obesity Vitality Strength Sensuality Beauty or elegance Masculinity or femininity Health or disease Age Frequently it is not enough to perform only liposuction and tighten skin. Platysma muscle tightening will not overcome deep layer problems. The anatomical problems should be diagnosed and corrected. By utilizing at the same time deeper layer facelift and neck lift techniques including contour correction and support with the superficial musculo-aponeurotic system (SMAS) and platysma muscle, attractive contours can be restored or formed. © 2008 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
