Abstract

In the present chapter I intend to assert that my most relevant scientific contribution to Brazilian Psychology is possibly the systematic effort to do violence prevention research, in Brazil, through the creation of The Laboratory for Violence Analysis & Prevention (LAPREV), with a program to study and intervene in family and school violence. Nevertheless, before I give examples of my endeavors associated with LAPREV, a brief introduction will be given justifying the need for violence intervention in Brazil.
