Abstract

Adverse drug reactions include drug hypersensitivity reactions, which can be immunologic (allergic) or non-immunologic. The management of those reactions is frequently difficult, taking into account the fact that for most of the patients drug hypersensitivity reactions are usually not confirmed, and reported by the patients themselves. The activity of the general practitioner is very important in the initial care of drug hypersensitivity reactions and in the orientation of the patient toward an allergology consultation for witnessed or past reactions. It is important to know the different types of drug hypersensitivity reactions, their risks and possible complications and when to refer the patient to a reference Center.
