This article presents a systematic review of the literature on the authoring tools based on IMS-LD, features and functionality, as well as units of learning (UoL) reuse possibilities. For this, we used the RSL models Kitchenham (2007), Marshall and Brereton, (2013), and IMS-LD concepts of Koper (2004), Koper and Manderveld (2004) and IMS (2003). The results show the existence of various authoring tools, but usability issues or incompatibility between them that prevent greater reuse and wide use among stakeholders.
