Abstract

Core Messages: Acute urticaria is a frequent disease with spontaneous appearance of weals or angio-oedema. The lifetime prevalence is estimated to be around 15-20% The majority of cases are of short limited duration Most common causes are viral infections of the upper airways and drugs, especially NSAID © 2010 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
