Abstract

The lbkeach Inventory of Personal Values may become a hindrance in long term theoretical development, because it fails to link up the various personal value items in a comprehensive framework, its ranking approach prevents it from coping with future possible changes in considering the em ic-etic distinction in cross cultural research, and it does not push the researchers beyond empirical explorations.
