Abstract

This article deals with the topic of plagiarism in textbooks when referred to internet searches and the opinions of the authors. By analyzing the content of 16 Portuguese, Science, Geography and Mathematics books, according to the guidelines of Bardin (2011) and semi-structured interviews with five Brazilian authors, it was concluded: the lack of guidelines on plagiarism in the elementary school textbooks analyzed; the subject of plagiarism is not integrated with the guidelines of the National Textbook Program; and there is a displacement of responsibility for the mediation of these teachers’ guidelines.
